Dr Jacobus Pauw

Dr. Jacobus Pauw grew up in Pretoria and qualified medicine at the University of Pretoria. He was awarded the prize for the best Orthopaedic student. During his final year in medicine, he realized that ophthalmology is the perfect speciality for his interest, personality, and abilities. 

He had the privilege of studying under Dr. Frits Stegmann in Polokwane and later under Prof. Robert Stegmann in Medunsa.

Dr. Pauw will be forever grateful to these two mentors for teaching him the finer skills of eye surgery and trigger the passion of this beautiful speciality. 

In 2008 he joined his uncle Dr. Peter van der Spuy at the Pretoria Eye Institute. He is stationed at Arcadia and Faerie Glen and also has a satellite practice in Secunda (Mpumalanga).
