Introduction

Dr Johann Grobbelaar grew up in Irene – Pretoria. He completed his pre-graduate medical studies at the University of Pretoria. He practiced as a general practitioner but soon realized he wanted to specialise. He completed his post graduate studies in ophthalmology, also at the University of Pretoria, in 2003.

When making a career decision, aviation was also a strong contender so he pursued that dream and also qualified as a commercial pilot. He is a passionate birder and his bird photographs and records are widely published.
